Burglary Appeal – Temple Hirst

Between 2100hrs on 15/05/2026 and 1230hrs on 16/05/2026, a barn located at the rear of a property on Main Road, Temple Hirst was broken into.

A number of high-value items have been stolen, including two bicycles and a quantity of power tools.

Police enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward. We are particularly interested in any footage that may show two unidentified males in the area during the stated times.

Residents are encouraged to take the following measures to help prevent similar incidents:

Ensure outbuildings, sheds, and barns are securely locked with robust padlocks or security-rated locks.

Install motion-activated lighting and, where possible, CCTV cameras covering access points.

Mark valuable property (such as bikes and tools) with marking kits or register them on national property databases.

Avoid leaving valuable items in plain view and consider anchoring bikes or equipment to fixed points.

Report any suspicious activity to police.
